How do I calculate the shipping costs and delivery time from China to Belgium?

Use our rate calculator. Enter the weight, dimensions, pick-up country and destination, and you see all available options with their delivery times. The calculator works for import shipments as well as exports.

Can I also import a shipment with ParcelParcel?

Yes. Importing works just as easily as exporting: you enter the pick-up address abroad, book the shipment and send the label and any customs invoice to the sender.

Do I need a customs invoice?

Yes, for every shipment to or from a country outside the European Union. A customs invoice lists the goods in your shipment, with an English description, the value and the weight of each type of product. Customs uses it to check the shipment and work out any duties.

You don’t have to make it yourself: when you book a shipment outside the EU, ParcelParcel creates the customs invoice automatically from the contents you enter. Documents are not subject to customs, so a document shipment doesn’t need one. Not every item can be sent to every country; see the goods you can’t send.

Are there any extra costs, such as import duties or VAT?

That depends on whether your shipment stays inside the European Union.

Within the EU
Your shipment doesn’t go through customs, so there are no import duties or clearance fees. Dutch VAT (21%) is charged on the shipping costs. Note that the EU is not the same as Europe: Switzerland, for example, is in Europe but not in the EU.

Outside the EU
No VAT is charged on the shipping rate. Customs in the destination country may charge import duties and taxes, which are usually paid by the recipient (Delivered At Place, DAP). As a business you can also ship Delivered Duty Paid (DDP), so that you as the sender pay these costs.

Is there a discount on my first shipment?

Yes. Businesses get 10% off every shipment for the first 4 weeks with a free business account. Private customers can use the code PP10 for 10% off their first shipment; you enter it at checkout.

Can I insure my shipment?

Yes, with ParcelParcel’s transport guarantee. For a value up to €250 it costs a flat €10, up to €1,950 a flat €19.50, and above that 1% of the value (1.2% from €10,000, 1.4% from €20,000 and 1.8% above €30,000). It covers damage, theft and loss. You choose it when you book.
