Our goal
We want everyone to be able to use our website: with a screen reader, with only a keyboard, zoomed in or with any other assistive technology. To get there we follow the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA. These guidelines are the basis of the European standard EN 301 549, which the European Accessibility Act refers to.
This statement covers the website www.parcelparcel.com, both the Dutch and the English pages. The shipping platform my.parcelparcel.com, where you log in and book, is not part of it.
How accessible is the website now?
The website is partially compliant with WCAG 2.1 level AA. That is the outcome of our own check in October 2026: an automated scan of every page and a manual keyboard test. No external audit has been done yet.
What we have already improved
- You can zoom in and out on every page, including on your phone.
- The Tab key first takes you to a Skip to content link, so you can skip the menu.
- Every page has one main heading, and the menu has been cleaned up so screen readers read it out properly.
- Videos no longer start by themselves. They only play when you click them.
- Photos of our authors have a text alternative.
What does not work well yet
- Some images, mainly in older blogs and news articles, do not have a text alternative yet.
- Our downloadable PDFs (such as white papers) have not been made accessible for screen readers. Need the content in another format? Let us know and we will send it to you.
- Some parts come from other parties and are not managed by us, such as the Trustpilot reviews, the cookie banner and the chat.
We are fixing these step by step. We are also still checking colour contrast, screen reader use on every page, subtitles on our videos, and the forms and rate calculator.
